11/14 Local School Council Meeting, 6-8PM, Library
The Local School Council (LSC), an elected body responsible for our school budget, Continuous Improvement Work Plan and for principal evaluation, retention and selection, welcomes all parents/guardians to its monthly meetings and to participate during the Public Comments session.
11/15 Payton Community Meeting, 6-7PM, Library
Our monthly community meetings start with an informal talk from Principal Devine and end with a meet-and-greet. All parents/guardians of current Payton students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
11/15 Booster Association Midnight Madness, 7-9PM, West Gym
This family-oriented pep rally kicks off Payton's basketball season. Meet the players and enjoy a thrilling performance from the Chicago Sky Squad acrobatic dunk team! The entire Payton community is welcome. More information is on the Payton Boosters webpage.
11/16 Report Card Pickup, no school for students
Pick up first-term report cards and meet one-on-one with your kid's teachers. Please note that conferences are unscheduled (we wait in line) and typically last 5-8 minutes, depending on whether other people are waiting.
11/29 "We Are Payton Parents" Speaker Series, 6:15-8PM, Library
Organized by Dr. Bauer and the counseling team, the topic for this session is "How Can I Tell If Something Is Really Wrong?"
11/30 College Night for Junior Parents, 6:30-8PM, Recital Hall
Payton's counseling team provides an overview for 11th grade parents/guardians on what to expect in junior year and college readiness. Topics will include course selection for senior year, standardized test prep and college info sessions. This is an event for parents/guardians; Payton counselors hold separate sessions for students.

Friends of Payton (FOP) is a parent-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (tax ID #36-4409659) that raises funds and provides volunteer assistance to support Walter Payton College Prep. Our mission is to enrich educational and extracurricular activities with outside resources to supplement the limited funding allotted to Payton through the public school system.
