Technology / Audio VisualTechnology offers unique and necessary teaching and learning opportunities for faculty and students alike. Classroom use of lap-tops with direct connectivity to the internet allows for deeper investigation and a greater variety of meaningful activities across the curriculum. Students are connecting to schools, museums, institutions of higher learning and experts around the world on a regular basis. We expect students to increase their ability to work independently, to demonstrate research skills, to set learning goals, and to become self-motivators in and out of the classroom through the use of advanced telecommunications. Teachers are able to avail themselves of the best professional development on-line through our connectivity to the internet and video-conferencing. Payton Prep is committed to become the leader and model in creating an academic environment engaging our learning community with modern and emerging technology. A "trainer of trainers" paradigm is in place across our disciplines. It is our goal to expand this model to other CPS schools and learning communities by further developing our use of video-conferencing. Technology serves as the tool to communicate, collaborate and connect. These skills are increasingly critical as students navigate our new century and create their own lives as leaders. Current Payton students will live on average until the year 2068. This technology plan will prepare them in the best manner possible to lead enriched, fulfilling lives as future leaders in our world. |
