Seminars

Payton's seminar program motivates students to learn independently. This is fostered by offering students opportunities to study subjects outside of the curriculum offered in most high schools. This study is intended to be more in depth, and students have control over choosing which seminar they take. Seminars are multi-disciplinary and encourage project based learning.

Eleven times each semester, Payton has a seminar day (usually Thursdays of weeks without a holiday). Typically students take two seminars; each one meets for 80 minutes on each seminar day. A few seminars meet for 160 minutes.
