Payton Math Team Update
Payton’s math team earned it’s 3rd consecutive city championship Saturday at Lane
Tech.
The city of Chicago Math League has four areas of team competition.
Payton placed 1st in Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus, and 2nd in Algebra 1.
Several Payton students also earned individual awards:

The McCarthy-Murzyn Award is given to the top student in each category with the
highest cumulative score over the course of the five city meets in the year.

For the first time Payton’s math team earned first place in
the Illinois Math League. Cumulatively over six meets, Payton had the highest
cumulative score out of 88 schools.
